Appointee bank account dilemma

Our 19 year old keeps getting in trouble with police. Minor drug possession. He won't give up cannabis. I'm starting to feel like I can't deal with money anymore because he's no respect. His PIP goes in to an account in my bank and I pay all his bills and expenses. Should I have it paid directly to his account? Then the wrongdoings won't be in any way connected to me? I will still help with forms and appointments . He will very likely spend a lot more on cannabis but that's his choice ?!
