One off wage on LWRCA

Hello , I need some advice, I'm a musician as a hobby , I could never make a career of it due to having hemiplegic migraines, FND and ME , I've been offered a one off paid gig soon and I'm super nervous to accept it because I'm on LWRCA and PIP , am I best off declaring this ? I'll be getting paid £100 for a 45 minute gig . It's a paid one off usually if I've done them in the past they've been free. I've done 3 hours over the year so far , should I declare that too ? It's technically just my hobby , and I think if I I was playing a piano in church on a Sunday then no I probably wouldn't declare that but still , I'm a little nervous that I'm technically doing something wrong. Can anyone advise and put my mind at rest ? I know I'm better off declaring the paid one for transparency but will that trigger reassment or anything?

You will need to declare this to Universal Credit as earned income. I really wouldn't worry about this triggering a reassessment of any kind. You don't need to declare it to PIP as this isn't a means tested benefit and you can work and receive PIP.

If it's just a cash one-off it might not be worth the hassle of declaring it. If it's being paid properly into a bank account then you will need to declare it as above.

    Hi @LisaRose909

It's always best to be open and honest and declare any extra income and like the members mentioned above I really doubt this would trigger a LWCRA reassessment and it won't affect your pip at all!
