Just submitted my claim

I rang up as was advised to apply by citizen advice and also a benefits advisor lady who came out to see me . I answered honestly and about my worst days etc and how my mental health and drinking at times affected me . And how I can’t be around ppl etc as don’t trust anyone due to past abuse ( long story short) . I don’t know if il get anything and it’s took me ages to apply I got told a few years back to do it but just couldn’t manage because of mental health not sure can still go through more medicals tbh but I made first step. Il never be ok tbh I live day by day and tbh probs some days hour by hour as my mental health etc is that up and down . What’s been your experience ? It’s tough isn’t it I find ? I almost feel like I’m begging which makes me feel a bit more crappy I guess but every support will help . If I get anything that’s good if not then least I tried .

Heya @tracies1996 well done on getting your claim in, the first step really is the hardest, so give yourself a big pat on the back for doing it! ❤️
I know first hand what a nightmare it all is and you'll always be second guessing yourself. But it's ok, you'll no doubt get a call for an assessment, so I always suggest having a pen and paper at hand and just scribble down any important information as you remember it. That was you'll be fully armed with everything when that call comes. 😁
And please don't feel like it's begging. You're just asking for support that you're entitled to, simples as that. It's like applying for a provisional driving licence, only with more hoops to jump through.😆

Not sure if could go through appeal I had to fight years ago to get my esa although got it and in support enhanced etc but when your already going through things on a daily basis it’s a lot and mentally draining isn’t it ? But thank you for reply and kind words mean a lot . ☺️

@tracies1996 Well done putting your claim together and applying for PIP. Try and stay calm and take each step as it comes. If you have sent in enough evidence you may have a paper based assessment, so you will not be called. If things are getting on top of you, come back here and we will try and help!
