Do you receive PIP in order for your daughter to claim CA? It will not affect you financially and you do not need to inform UC yourself. It might also be useful for your daughter to apply for UC too, as it will pay more than Carer's Allowance alone. Please get her to do a benefits check to see what support may be available.

A UC claim can be closed at any point if requested, and will give an extra £157.70 a month to someone aged 18 who is also claiming Carer's Allowance alongside (based on said person having less than £6k in savings). A mortgage application won't be affected based on UC later on down the line, it also gives free prescriptions, dental, eye tests and other non-financial support. Carer's Allowance has a weekly earnings limit of £196 per week and less than 16 hours, whereas the same restrictions do not apply with UC.
No pressure, I just thought it was worth mentioning as so many people miss out thinking they aren't entitled for a top-up.

If she claims UC she won't have any work commitments due to being a carer.
She would be entitled to Standard Allowance & Carers Element totalling £518.66.
With Carers Allowance deducted (£360.96) she would receive an additional £157.70 a month in Universal Credit.

Thank you so much h for the reply they are really helpful I will discuss this with my daughter she was just really reluctant to go on uc as she didn't want them pestering her to work . Can I also ask if she was to claim uc would it have an effect on my uc
Thank you

No if she claims UC it will not impact your UC.
Even though you live together you are considered separate households for benefit purposes.
And there would be no non dependant deductions to your Housing Element regardless, a) she is under 21 and b) your Daily Living PIP excludes you from that deduction.
