Universal Credit Review- My Bank Statements are a Mess
Sorry if this has already been covered.
I am on UC and PIP for disability, but had the UC review phone call this morning. They asked for 4 months of bank statements, which I've sent, but I'm worried sick. I receive alot of money from a family member to pay for daily care, which costs around £2000 a month due to my complex needs. I have also started selling things on facebook, and vinted to make ends meet, because I am struggling to get through each month. I am paying for extra medication which is only available via private doctor, which is also fronted by my father. My bank account is always at -£3000ish , but my statement says I make £5000 a month, which all goes into care, bills and private medication +therapy that isn't available on the NHS :( I am so scared that they're gonna take my money away, or accuse me of fraud. I am autistic, with a personality disorder and psychosis. My carer says I have nothing to worry about, but I am worried sick. Any advice or reassurance would be appreciated.

Heya @Endogirl and welcome to the community. 😊
I'd not worry too much, people will have lots of money coming in and going out, such is the way the modern world works. The review is perfectly standard and it's just them checking there's no hidden savings, or regular transfers to keep your savings under the capital limit.. You'll just need to explain about the money being gifted by your family. 😁

Thank you for the reassurance. I have felt like a nervous wreck ever since they asked. I just can't relax or sleep.

It's totally understandable to feel that way @Endogirl they certainly don't make things easy to understand at the best of times. But it'll be ok. If you need a little pep talk before the interview, we're all here for you. 😊 If you dont need any other support before hand, will you let us know how you get on please?

Hi Endogirl…
We were so worried about our review as well….the only advice i can give is to be 100% honest with the person on the phone…if they ask a question you dont know the answer too…just tell them…i did….everything will be ok

Thank you guys. My call is at 11am - less than an hour's time. I'll just be glad for it to be over. I swear the whole process is designed to stress you out. It feels so invasive and horrid.

Just an update - I was on the phone for 45 minutes, going through all my incomings and outgoings which was exhausted. Just received a message saying that it has been completed, and there are no changes. I feel absolutely exhausted, and like I could go to bed and sleep for a year.

Thank you for the update @Endogirl. Well done on you for doing it, it sounds like it wasn't easy but at least its done now so hopefully that feels like a bit of weight has been lifted!
Go easy and take care of yourself for the rest of the day, these phonecalls can take it out you!0
