Hello im getting the SDP protection at £295.47 on my uc claim as it was a natural migration I understand that now. However I was getting severe disability premium on my esa claim, so I dont understand why im £211 worse off a month.

Also it says on turn2us that there is an enhanced DP payment that you should get on your UC claim if you was getting the enhanced payment on your ESA which I was of £30.25 a week. This hasn't been taken into concideration on my UC claim. Is this a thing and should this be payed on top on my award or am I reading it wrong before I actually speak to my case worker?

I had migration protection when I had to move my legacy benefits to Universal credit, I opted to have the SDP from ESA as I didn't want all of my money once a month. Im paid the SDP fortnightly. You should get the same benefits that you received previously, there will be slight differences as they pay monthly not 4 weekly, and my payment from ESA is deducted from my UC award. if you go on to your journal and go into payment's it breaks down what you receive. If you receive carers allowance there are differences. If you go on to your journal and ask them, they should let you know. I found the whole process confusing, but i found using my journal was more helpful than the UC helpline. You should receive all of your disabilities premiums with migration protection. We do finally lose the premiums as any increases to things like your rent are deducted from your payments. My money has gone down because of an increase in my rent. The aim is for all of us to lose the disability premium over time. I hope you get your answers and they sort it out quickly.

As this is a complex issue I'd recommend speaking to a trained benefits advisor
