Morning all
I live in a popular tourist resort and the summer season was really full on.
We were quite literally inundated with thousands of tourists in our small seaside town.
Things are gradually getting quieter here now and us locals can enjoy ourselves without the madding crowds.
We had a beautiful summer weather wise and now the evenings are drawing in darker and autumn is looming.
I am hoping we get dry weather in two weeks time when I am having a stay cation in a different area of the Duchy.
Its so nice going away off season when its quieter and cheaper, easier to travel around, park up and even find somewhere outside to sit in a pub garden weather permitting.

As important as tourism is. It must be great to get the place back again! Just imagine how awful it is for Venetians, no wonder they are leaving in greater numbers each year.

The next town over from me, there a wild swimming lake and hiking trails and it gets absolutely jam packed in the summer with people from Bristol, Midlands and other parts of Wales and the overflow trickles down into the other small towns and villages so I can relate to you there @luvpink, its nice to have things back to normality a bit now!
Also thank you @Chris75_ for creating this thread, it's always lovely to see some positivity and to see Gus😄1 -
We mustn't give in to despair or dark thoughts! Why, I'll even forgive those two teenagers that tried to humiliate me last night, out in my power chair.

I'm sorry that happened to you @Chris75_, some people are just horrible!
I agree with you, it can be hard doing but once you get there it can definitely make day to day feel easier!
We've just had a big thundery and rainy storm down here and it felt very symbolic of saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn😄0 -
Summer is certainly the shortest season!

Made a queue of people crease up with laughter in Aldi today. Popped to the toilet whilst my wife queued … came back amazed at how they've got different flavour fruit chews in the toilet
Everyone heard her when she said, you idiot, they're tampons 🤨

What were you doing in the ladies' toilet?

LOL … t'were unisex.
Although I remember the time I went to pick my mums death certificate up from the hospital … stood there in a cubicle peeing, thinking these toilets looked different last night
When I looked behind me and a female nurse was washing her hands … all I could say was, please don't scream
To add insult to injury she walked down the corridor pointing at me telling everyone. At least she was laughing not dialling 999

Its getting much more pleasant here now and we still have good weather with the odd rain shower now and then.
The nights are drawing in and autumn is on its way but this place is so beautiful in all seasons.

And so you should … 1. who lies about their mother's death and 2. I've only ever lied once. And that was when I wanted to get out of swimming whilst in school. Pretended I had a bellyache … father took me to the Drs. … he gloved up, did an internal and said … his appendix are going to burst. I couldn't say anything or my father would have battered me. Within hours they were out. That taught me a serious life lesson. Never lie

The rain is stotting down, and the sky is leaden. Never mind, only another 6+ months until spring!
