I am an elderly disabled lady, who lives alone and uses a Level 2 mobility scooter.
Having recently moved to a new area, I was not familiar with the layout.
I have however, been distressed at the severe lack of dropped kerbs, thus going out independently has become daunting, decreasing my independence and contributing to further isolation.
As a Level 2 mobility user, I am legally allowed to use only the pavement, but unfortunately, in order to do essentials like shopping, appointments etc. I have been forced to use the road or be stranded! Should I have the misfortune to have an accident through no fault of my own, who is legally responsible, given my right of was was denied?
