Uc
hi just got this should I be worried about it
It appears that you've failed to report a change in your guy
circumstances promptly. You need to tell us by 12 September
2025, the reason for not telling us sooner and what you've done
to correct this. You did not remove your daughter from your claim when
she left your household on 10 June 2024 .
Reporting changes is something you committed to do in return
for receiving Universal Credit. If you don't do this and you're paid
too much Universal Credit, you'll have to repay any overpayment
and may also have to pay a £50 Civil Penalty.
You can get more information about a Civil Penalty at
www.gov.uk
We'll decide whether you'll have to pay a Civil Penalty based on
the information you give us. If we don't hear from you by
12 September 2025, we'll make our decision based on the
information w e h a v e now.
What you need t o d o now
You need to contact us by 12 September 2025. We'll check that
the information we have is correct. We'll also decide whether you
should pay the Civil Penalty depending on your reason for failing
to report the change in your circumstances promptly and what
you've done to correct this error.
Universal Credit is operated by the Department for Work and P

Hi,
If you get extra money from UC because of your daughter living at home then you will most likely have to pay that back now.
All you can do is follow the instructions and contact them by 12th September to explain why you didn't inform them at the time.

As previously advised regarding failure to report a change, potential overpayment and small fine, this is normal procedure.
Once you've given them what they asked for, any overpayment will be calculated and a letter will be added to your Journal stating the amount you owe.
A Decision Maker will decide whether to issue a fine.

ok so will I need to submit further evidence or will they just do that and decode about fone etc
Sorry just worrying as the letter seems official

They've asked you to explain the reason you didn't report the change, so that's what you need to do.

They asked me to write to them by the 12th .when will I hear back from them or will they just amend my payments ?

When a decision maker has looked at the issue, you should receive a letter on your Journal.
This letter will confirm the outcome and detail any overpayment that may have occurred.
