💜 National Daughters Day 💛 Thurs 25th Sept
Today is a day to have a special celebration of our wonderful daughters. It's a day to acknowledge how special and unique our daughters are and the joy (and possibly stress!) they bring us.
History
National Daughters Day originated in India in 2007 as a way to combat the stigma attached to having a daughter. It has now been adopted by numerous countries around the world. The day highlights how important it is to empower and support girls and young women to achieve their dreams and fight against gender inequality.
Get involved
There are many ways you can show your gratitude for your daughter:
- Write a letter expressing your feelings
- Take them out for lunch
- Make them a card
- Give them a call
It doesn't have to be a grand gesture, just something that lets them know how much they are loved and appreciated ❤️
I have a 9 month old daughter and I treasure her everyday. Her smile melts my heart and I love snuggles with her. I'm excited to see what kind of person she will grow up to be and what her passions and interests will be. I would love to teach her to sing and play the piano, if she's interested! Have you passed on any skills or knowledge to your daughter?
If you have a daughter or granddaughter, share your favourite memories together or tell us your favourite thing about them 😊
Look out for National Sons Day on Monday!

I have an old, female cat. But she's like a very skinny, arthritic daughter to me. That totally counts, right?

Of course! Fur babies always count 😊

I have the female fur baby, so I count her, having never had kids. Sadly, my mum & dad would have to pop out of ashes.
