Compliance advice
Ive been a stay at home parent/carer the past 20years, dont work. My partner works, we claim universal credit as a couple. I had a u/c compliance interview yesterday where I was told someone has reported me for cash in hand work, which of course I haven't, I did a 1 day trial months ago but decided against it. Ive to provide 3months bank&savings statements which im happy to do. But to me that doesnt show that im not getting the "cash in hand" in question, so not sure what happens there. they can come check my house and kids, they will see we are not rich or living life of luxury, we are a struggling everyday family.
Then this morning i get a call from a guy I know asking if I would i like a evening job cleaning for few hours a week to cover a maternity leave, the hours suit our family and the extra £ leading up to Christmas would be great, So I will of course want to report this change to uc, but feel like since my interview was only yesterday they are going to think I have lied.
So now dont know if this would be the right time to take on any job while under investigation, cause might look like i have lied. Or should I just go for it and get back into the work place.
Dont know what to do for the best.

Hi @MissMac oh that's awful, I'm so sorry that's happened. It's incredibly difficult and really tricky timing. I don't want to tell you want to do either way as only you can make that decision but it's completely understandable why you feel that way. I'd feel very cautious at the moment too. I'm sorry as that shouldn't be the case, because you have been falsely reported.

So sorry you're in this position. For the sake of your claim, you need to decline the job offer till they've formally closed your investigation. It shouldn't take too long for UC to get back to you.
If the guy knows about your situation, maybe you could explain this to him?
