#@Amazingblazing628,
Hello, Sorry to hear that you are having this common problem with your Supra Pubic site. Treatments are not often prescribed (for several years) because they were often found to be the source of infections, which as you will appreciate can be difficult to treat. It was recommended to keep the site clean and as dry as possible (acknowledged that this can be problematic if the site leaks urine), however, applying creams etc… can create more problems. It was protocol (when I was working as a Community Nurse) to apply a dry gauze dressing around the site to keep it as dry as possible and protect the site from irritation caused by clothing 'rubbing' near the site. Steroids are not usually prescribed since they also can cause other issues and were rarely prescribed except in very severe cases and only for a short time because of the potential risk of damaging the surrounding skin, making it more vulnerable to infections.
You could try leaving that area exposed for a while during the day to enable the natural air to allow the site to 'breathe' and dry of it's own accord, this was often the first line to try for patients who suffered with this very common problem.
I hope you may find this helpful.
