Is it normal to not eat for 4 days but still not be hungry.

I have struggled with food all my life, I never feel hunger pains like a normal person should, I only ever realise I need food if I'm really weak or feeling funny. Recently though every food is a put off for me, I don't have an appitite for anything, and with the lack of hunger means I havn't eaten anything for 4 days and I still don't feel hungry or want anything to eat.

I can't even do a normal shop anymore at the supermarket or get any food in, as I seem to throw it away and waste it as I just don't eat it. My appitite normally changes like the wind, and one minute I'd feel like something and cook it and by the time I've cooked it I don't want it again and do without.

Its driving me mad, I have even resorted to watching people eat meals on youtube just to try give me some sort of hunger or appitite with no luck. I'm pretty sure at this point I have some sort of malnutrician too as this has been an ongoing battle for a while and can't remember the last time I had a proper meal and was able to eat it.

Are you still able to drink plenty? Not eating for prolonged periods must be quite difficult, Rubin.

Do you feel alright other than lack of appetite @rubin16? One of my Autistic friends finds it difficult to know when they're hungry too. Sometimes it's that they're overwhelmed by something else going on in the world so just don't feel the signals for hunger at all.

If you're up to drinking but just don't fancy proper food, would meal replacement shakes be any good for you? Some people find them helpful but I know the textures and tastes aren't always for everyone.

Maybe it's worth seeing if your GP can check some of your blood levels just in case you're starting to get deficient in anything. Hopefully some of our other members will have some tips to share on things that helped them too.
