Heya @Harsmi12 and a very warm welcome to the community!

Congratulations on the LCWRA award, that must be a big weight off of your mind?

to be able to give you the correct estimate, can I just ask when the first fit note was handed in, when your payment cycle is and if there were any breaks in the fit notes?

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to your payment, dating from your first Fit Note*. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.

*This relies on there being no breaks in providing Fit Notes- it is the date they are given to UC that counts, not the start date written on them.

If you claim with a partner who gets LCWRA themselves, no extra money is paid for your award. Any Transitional Protection is reduced by the LCWRA amount.

With your Fit Note date, no backpay is owed. If there were no breaks, you'll first receive LCWRA element in November. This increases your award (before deductions) by £423.27.

Yes the benefit cap will be lifted, I believe this will happen in the first AP that you are eligible for LCWRA payment - so September/October.

Yes you can get both UC (means tested) and New Style ESA (Contributions based) at the same time.

You'll see a deduction for £609.05 on your UC statement, this is the monthly equivalent weekly New Style ESA.

    THANKYOU for your replies..

I find it all so hard to understand.

Do you know if the benefit cap gets backdated to when my illness started?

No, the benefit cap will be first lifted when you are eligible for LCWRA payment.

For you this is your September/October AP.
