Hi, my name is davina321! damp and mold issues.
hi I’ve suffered from severe anxiety for abot 24 years the doctors gave me diazepam for 12 years then a few months later my father died them a month later my partner as if that wasn’t bad enough my mum passed away a year later since then I’ve never been the same my anxiety was extreme as I’d pass out I’ve not left the house since covid only if I’ve got to go to the doctors or Job center my condition has gotten worse through the years as all this happened 2012 I’ve lived in this house for 24 years now which has been riddled with dampness I asked my doctor about this but he said at the time it dosnt affect your health but that was 20years ago now all I’m seeing is how bad damp spours ( mould) can definitely cause health problems Its cost me a fortune trying to keep painting hand to throw out carpets beds even baby stuff belonging to my daughter I’ve been here before it went from glasgow city council then it went private to gha tried reporting the dampness again it they would just come out and paint it again but only the bits that were bad with mould so I’d end up having to buy paint and paint the rest of the walls I’ve got lots of pictures I’ve took over the years I’ll send them in an attachment but since I don’t leave the house my breathing has been getting bad my depression worse because I won’t answer the door because of the smell of dampness I had an inspector form glasgow city council saying to me he could not believe that I was still going through this I’ve been back at the doctors and I’ve to go to the hospital as she’s telling me that I’ve to go to the hospital for a heat and lung x ray I canny remember the real name for it it she even said on the letter that there’s mould in every room possibly lung damage now there wanting me to let them in tomorrow to put new windows in and all my blinds are fitted with not even a cm to spare and there saying there not compensateing me for new blinds and paint have I the right to refuse because this shouldn’t cost me money and I panic xx at this time of year because my bills are so high I usually try to get a budgeting loan but I moved to universal credit last year so I don’t know what to to

Are you a council tenant? That is unacceptable in the extreme.
It isn’t always easy to complain if it isn't in your nature, but my first step would be to attend a surgery with one of your local councillors; that's what they're there for.
I wouldn't stop there either. It's amazing what a HofC headed letter can do, get right on to your MP, if in a devolved nation, an MSP, MS, MLA would be better than going straight to your MP (Assuming housing is a devolved matter in your country).

A warm welcome from me too @davina321
I'm very sorry this has happened to your home. Have you spoken to the council about this? Or do you have any support to help you like a housing support officer?
From what you've described it also sounds like it may be worth contacting your MP about this as this is such a serious issue, causing you health problems and nothing has really been done to help you yet!0 -
Hi,
Interior decoration such as blinds will be your responsibility unless they were specifically mentioned on the inventory when you started the tenancy.
Tbh, the windows will cost thousands of pounds. Paint and blinds are only a very small amount compared to those. I don't think it is worth refusing thew work for that reason.
