Letting UC know they paid my monthly payment.

Hi
So I'm deducted £13 because of savings when first applied. Those savings have gone down in savings account but still a bit over the £6k so I guess I should tell them it's reduced.
The current account where UC is payed had £30 in it until Friday when money went in so do I have tell them that because they paid me my monies have gone up? as I guess money in current account is classed as savings too.

Hi,
There is no need to update your savings until the final day of your assessment period.
If you have only just been paid, there must still be another 3 weeks or so left of the current payment period.
If you do choose to update your savings today, then it gets a bit more difficult. As long as you haven't spent any money since the UC came in, then you can deduct the full UC as 'income', and could just put £30. But that will not work as we get further through the assessment period, when you start spending some of the money.
Honestly, the easiest way to do it is just to put the exact figure from your bank account into UC on the final day of your assessment period. There is no chance of you being overpaid when doing that.

Hi and thanks, I'm not great with all the assessment period, just goes over my head
I'm guessing it's from when paid to the next payment day 🤔

Not quite.
Your assessment period dates are written on each payment statement.
They are the same dates each month.
For example my AP is 26th-25th and I get paid on the 2nd.

No, it's not quite that. Your assessment period ends one week before you get paid.
So your payment is always based on how the previous period ended one week earlier.
Your assessment period dates are written on the online statements if you have access to an online journal.
Usually we can work out the assessment period dates from payment dates. However, as you were paid on Friday, your real date might actually be over the weekend, as no UC payments are made over weekends.
If your real payment date in on the 10th. Then the AP will be 4th to 3rd of each month.

If your payment date is the 13th. Then your assessment periods will be from 7th to the 6th of each month.
In that case, you should update your savings on the 6th.

ok yes it is those dates the 7th to the 6th.. It was the 11th last month so i should. I'm unsure how to work it out except that i should do any updates on the final day i think

I think your bank is confusing this slightly by showing the payment a day early. Last month the 13th was a Saturday. So you should have been paid on Friday 12th instead. (Payments are never made over weekends).
Regardless of the payment date, the assessment period dates will always be the 7th to the 6th of every month from now on. So savings changes should always be updated on the 6th as you say. 🙂

Ok so only on the 6th of each month regardless of anything else and not a day later?
Yes, last month was on Friday the 11th I recall.

Much appreciated.. If anything happens I'll post back but doubt it will.
Just another quick thing, do I have to post on the journal weekly as it says you have to login weekly. Just wondered. I didn't reply to the work coach message.

You're welcome.
There's no need to post on the journal weekly. I haven't posted on mine for months!
You also don't really have to login weekly. They only say that to cover themselves in case you miss a journal message and try to blame them in future. It is good to check as often as you can, but there won't be any consequences if you don't manage it every week.
