Yes, very lucky, @StarryEyed! The city is well 'park'd', there are four that you can walk through from one to the other, there's also a lovely enclosed dog park in the middle of them which is fenced but with some metal sculptures built into them & clematis, passionflower & honeysuckle dripping all over & picnic tables. Once it dries out, we'll be able to visit again, as Hattie has some regular doggie friends she meets up with, some fellow dachs, her best friend is a rottweiler called Rambo, the gentlest lump, but they can all charge around leadless & play. The parks are my favourite place to go as the planting is wonderful & I don't have a garden, the trees, flowers through the year of different kinds, a fountain, statues & cenotaph. They're really well looked after by the council & are beautiful. Squirrels everywhere too! Off there
tomorrowtoday as forecast is for dry weather again.0 -
Oh what splendid pictures you paint in my mind 🥰 And what a wide smile you've put on my face. Thank you. 🙏🏼 Do you ever photograph your park visits?
I was lying in the grass this week and a little doggie came to say hi and sit with me for a bit. It was the sweetest compliment...

That is awesome, StarryEyed! I remember being on holiday too many years ago, I was sitting at a river bank and this excited doggy ran up to me from behind and stayed with me for a short while.

Awwww…what a cutie, @StarryEyed, how lovely that he wandered up to you. 😎 Thanks! I sometimes take photos, just for me. I did take some a couple of days ago, trying to get a magnolia coming out, but the trees there a beautiful, different & plenty, love'em. Hattie decided to photobomb it though! 😁

Has anyone ever visited the visdeurbel? This is the one I 'caught' a year ago.

My first car when it got wrote off back in 2015. Someone who was drunk and I think they might have been high on drugs reversed really quickly down my street, bounced off of a pothole and went into my car, their car ended up upside down and they all ran off.
I ended up buying the red one with the insurance pay out.

Yes, I looked in regularly last year, @SmellyBin, I saw one with bits of two others pass through, got quite excited, it was all I saw though.

Very cool! Weird, what we can get excited about, right? Will you show us your screenshot if you see something?

I know, crazy how we can get excited by the oddest of things. Yep, if I get a sighting again 🤞

@Ross1975 the doggie visit was only but a minute or two max, but it was spectacular. Aren't we lucky?? I'm sorry you lost your car in the accident. Losing a car to me was tragic. I only owned three cars in my life - a Colt, a Toyota Tercel and a Toyota Corolla. I had to sell all three due to financial constraints - a recurring theme in my life. Arghhh. Have you got a car in mind for when your current ride bites the biscuit?
@SmellyBin that is so cool about the fishies. I didn't know about that. How delightful! Thank you for posting that.
@JessieJ yes Hattie definitely photo bombed that shot and stole the show!! Lol!! She's adorable 🥰 What an absolutely gorgeous garden. That is testimony to why the Brits are world famous for their gardens. Unbelievable! Magnolias are one of my favourite trees too. I don't think we have them here in Spain, at least not around where I live. But where I lived in Canada, in Southern Ontario, there were tons of them. A couple of times a year we have jacaranda trees blooming throughout the city that just are remarkable. When they bloom next I'll post pics here.

Not really no. I would love to get another Mk1 Focus, I do really like how they look in red but for a change I would like to get one in burgundy, I think they also look really nice in that colour.
Why would I love to get another one? Well, I like the way they look, they're really nice to drive, they're affordable to run, they're also quite reliable and usually whenever something goes wrong with them it's usually cheap and simple to fix, and it's just what I'm used to.
But I think because of how old they are now it would be very difficult finding one that's reliable and which will last me for quite a few years.
So, when I do eventually get another car it'll be something newer, I've got no idea what though.

Well I hope your current wheels hold out for a very long time. 🙏🏼😊
Your solid reasons for buying the same car are the same as why I stayed with Toyota after my Tercel. I adored my Corolla. I was fortunate to be at the top of my game financially then, so I bought new. If there was such a thing, it was like driving around in a piece of heaven. Like yours, mine was red. The actual colour Toyota listed as "Impulse Red". How is that for an exciting name? Lol! It was the first year of that particular revised model, and I was on top the world. Sweet memories. Did you buy new?

I bought both Focuses second hand, the first one I bought in 2008 and was around £2000 and was 7 years old, then the second one I bought in 2015 and was advertised at £1000 but my nephew who was with me when we were looking at the car managed to get the price down to £800, it was 12 years old at the time, best £800 I've ever spent.
Btw the red colour of my Focus is Colorado Red. Do you have any pictures of the cars you owned/still own?

Your nephew sounds like a handy person to have about. That's a great reduction!

@Holly_Scope handy indeed! 😁😁
@Ross1975 Colorado Red sounds very cool too!!👍🏼 That's amazing how long your cars last. Not the norm. Wow.
Yes, I'll dig up some car photos of the Corolla as I don't have pics of the other two as they were back in the 80s. You know I was thinking about what I wrote last night and it occurred to me that a big part of the reason I loved my Corolla so much was it was the only thing right in my life at that time, as my life fell apart and I was so effing sick that I almost died. And it was especially symbolic when I sold my car as it was impossible to afford it when had to go on social benefits. It's also the last car I owned. Bittersweet feelings around that Corolla. Bittersweet.
On a brighter note (from Pinterest)....
