I have a question, Ive had my assessment and received the PA4 form. Based on the PA4, I should get possibly Standard DL. However, it seems to assessor ignored alot or twisted it and contradicated herself. So my question is, if Im awarded Standard DL, and put in a MR… does the payments for Standard DL continue while the MR is in process or does the payments stop pending the MR decision?

Hi @RobB82, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you were disappointed by your PIP report. You definitely wouldn't be the first to feel as if your conditions weren't represented properly in the assessment. Unfortunately this can happen sometimes and it's incredibly frustrating to read the report afterwards and find things are missing or not correct. I'm sure many of our members will be able to empathise with that experience!

Once you get a PIP decision, your payments continue during your mandatory reconsideration and any further appeal stages you go through. They will only change if you are given a new decision.

If you need any help with your MR, our members are really helpful so feel free to ask any questions you might have ☺️

Thank you Rosie, yeah - the assessor contradicted herself in the report by stated in the overall summary that I could only cook microwave meals - which is correct, but then gave me no points saying I cook for the family which is incorrect. Also said I built a rapport with her through humour… this was because she asked if I had any successful attempts at suicide - which I replied, that would be I wouldnt be able to be on this call - She laughed and marked me down for it - which has actually exaggerated my conditions and caused distress after a history of suicide in the family.

Strange question to be asked about suicide... Considering suicide is an issue in the UK, she should know better using it as a question and then laughing. You can put in a complaint.

The Decision Manager does not always go on the assessment report. As Rosie has mentioned, wait until you get your decision letter. Come back if you need any help once you have your letter.
