Pip review

so it’s a long 1 hope you can understand , I have my review which was triggered by a change (new diagnoses that backs up my mobility issues) it’s all happened quite quick filmed forms only month or 2 ago & now I have a telephone assessment. Am I looking too much into it because I got enhanced daily living at a face to face at my award over 2 yrs ago but at the time I hadn’t explored what was going on mobility wise (too much going on) so the lady was lovely she just said there wasn’t the evidence there to back up what I was saying. I now have the diagnoses of fibromyalgia ,prolapsed discs ,arthritis hips etc- I have good supporting information from my OT’s house risk assessments, multiple aids from them & also medical insoles etc, consultant letters, MRI scans psychiatrist letters. I am also in recovery (drug & alcohol child was adopted during my time in rehabilitation) so can imagine how much more it’s effected everything, triggers etc etc. I still remain clean & sober multiple years ! My query is surely they would have wanted a face to face appointment if they were thinking of any award for mobility ? Not that I’m complaining. Or do you think I have sent enough supporting documents that they can make a decision over the phone. I’m just worried incase it’s just been disregarded before I’ve had chance, as i am consumed by my health consistently. The nurse who I seen at original f2f was lovely they will have it on record I was an addict in treatment & I’m afraid I will be judged but losing my child is the cause of a lot of triggers & declining MH in particular so I feel I will have to disclose it if needed. I’m in an absolute pickle with it help !!!

Hi @traceypeacock, they don't necessarily need to do a face-to-face assessment to assess someone's mobility as it's all done through the forms, evidence and the questions that they ask you. It shouldn't go against you that your assessment is happening on a telephone at all. Lots of people are awarded the mobility component through phone assessments.

Hope it all goes well and you get the result you're looking for ☺️
