Can any one let me know how my benefits will change once I get married .
At the moment I live on my own and get UC and Lwcra and PIP

I understand my uc will be affected but don’t know by how much.

If you live together after getting married:

Your partner needs to open a claim for UC, and link your claims together.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/universal-credit-and-couples-an-introduction/universal-credit-further-information-for-couples

Entitlement will be calculated on your joint circumstances.

Any Transitional Protection you get currently will end.

Only one LCWRA element is payable within a couples claim.

Your partner can earn £411 (if claiming Housing Element) or £684 (if not) before UC make their standard deduction of 0.55p for every pound earned.

Try a benefits calculator to estimate your joint award.

    Hi @Bee_T_pain

Just to confirm, your pip won't be affected by moving in with your partner😊

Thank you ☺️ I’m the only one who is disabled. My partner does work so his earnings will affect my UC then ? but I’ll still get the Lwcra. Is that what you’re saying

Hi, yes your partners earnings will affect your UC as it will be a joint claim. If your partner earns over £411 (if claiming Housing Element) or £684 (if not claiming Housing Element) they will make a deduction of 55pence for every pound earned.

As Kimi suggested, it could be useful to use a https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators so you can see what you're likely to get.
