Stress Awareness Week - Self-Care🌻
For this instalment of our stress awareness week content, I thought we could look at ways to practise self-care.
Physical Self-Care
- Exercise regularly: We all have different capabilities so this is all down to what you are able to do. I find dancing the best way to exercise as it doesn't feel like hard work. Some days I'm able to stand up and do a proper dance, others I'll just have a little boggie while I'm sat down 💃
- Prioritise Sleep: Ensure you get enough restful sleep each night. Establish a bedtime routine to help you relax and unwind.
- Eat Nutritiously: Focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Proper nutrition supports overall health.
Emotional Self-Care
- Practice Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques such as meditation or deep breathing into your routine to reduce stress and enhance focus.
Express Yourself: Engage in creative activities like writing, drawing, or music to express your emotions and relieve stress. I personally love colouring books and listening to music.- Connect with Others: Spend time with others, whether that's in person, on the phone, or online.
Mental Self-Care
Learn Something New: Challenge your mind by taking up a new hobby or learning a new skill. This can boost confidence and provide a sense of accomplishment.- Set Boundaries: Learn to say no and establish boundaries to protect your time and energy.
- Take Breaks: Allow yourself regular breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge.
Relaxation Self-Care
- Pamper Yourself: Treat yourself to a spa day at home, with activities like a warm bath, skincare routine, or massage.
- Spend Time with Nature: Go outside, even if it's just to the front door, and take in the fresh air and the calming effects of the outdoors.
- Unplug: Take time away from screens to relax and focus on yourself. Make sure to come back though 😉
Self-care is a personal journey, and it's important to find activities that resonate with you. By incorporating physical, emotional, mental, social, and relaxation self-care into your routine, you can enhance your well-being and better manage stress. Remember, self-care is not a luxury; it's a necessity for maintaining a healthy and balanced life 😊
How do you practise self-care? Is there anything here you'd like to try?

Self-care for me definitely includes skincare as a calming daily ritual. Taking a few minutes morning and night to cleanse, hydrate, and gently massage the skin using Nurify Skin products really helps me relax, unwind, and feel more grounded, especially on stressful days.
