hi all

Had phone assessment last week, lot of people say ask for your report

Has it helped people getting report before decision?

Does it help guessing your outcome?

Or was it more stressful?

So ask for report, wait for decision?

Thanks

I have helped people to apply for PIP and I almost always advised them to ask for the report. In only a small percentage of cases does the Decision Maker at PIP come to a different conclusion than the Health Professional who carried out the assessment . Most decision letters are largely cut and paste and don't explain in any detail how the decision has been reached. Having the report enables you to see the justification for the decision and what evidence this has been based on which is very useful if you want to challenge the decision.

    Hi

I got the assessment report before I got the decision letter.

I got it to keep for future reference as I keep all correspondence and not to guess the outcome that a decision maker may disagree with.

For Universal Credit WCA you can't get the report until after the decision.

For PIP you can get the report prior, many have done so including myself last year.

I thought it was also applied to PIP. Then, in this case, I retract my comment. Sorry.

I see! On PIP, they can send out a report even one hour following the assessment because assessors just tick boxes next to descriptors. While on WCA, they need to write a proper report based on the information collected during the assessment and from any enclosed written medical evidences, which takes time.

It's easy for the assessors, while it's a headache for the claimants.

Then, as the OP asked, it can help guessing the outcome, I guess! What do you guys who're on PIP think?

    thanks all

Called pip earlier to get report, they said 7-10 days

On my assessment they said 2-6 weeks for decision letter

My assessment was hour and a half, got text hour later to say it’s been sent to Dwp
