How long does it take for UC50
Hi all,
I sent back a UC50 (WCA) form back in November 2024 for my husband and have done 5 fit notes since then but i still ain't heard anything back.
Silly part is some of my husbands conditions that are on the UC50 form have worsened since then.
Does it normally take this long?
Regards
Den

Unfortunately yes there can be a very long wait for an appointment during the WCA process.
You can contact directly the health assessment agency to enquire about waiting times.

Hi I think they need a good kick up the back side stressing people out with know communication and there relaxed way of doing it is terrible I hate dealing with them there a waist of time.

Gotta agree, the least they can do is keep people informed.

I sent my esa 50 back in Jan 24 hadn't heard anything. The jobcentre had been in touch with the doctor around May 24. But nothing still. It wasn't until I phoned esa in August that they admitted nothing had been recorded and I was still in the wrag group. I had my migration uc letter. So they got a wca for me in September due to my health being worse. And put in the support 3 weeks later. You may need to contact uc and ask .

Sorry for the late reply π
I phoned my local health assessment provider to see how much longer and to inform them that my husbands health has deteriorated a lot since i done the form and that he now has two more health conditions that ain't on the form because of how long they have had it.
The person on the phone answered "How can i help you"β¦..I repeated what i told him before and he replied "How can i help you"β¦..followed by "I can confirm we have your form dated back to November 2024, what can i help you with.
I again repeated what i said to him before stating that the original is kinda void because it's been so long that my husbands conditions have worsened and he has more new conditions now and he replied "How can i help you"

It sounds like an AI agent ππ»
You could try ringing again and saying "I need to speak to an agent", sometimes that gets through the AI.
Or you can always make a formal complaint using their complaints process. This should be on their website.

It was deffo not AI but it very much sounded like an abroad call center, i could hear in the background lots of foreign origin talkers.

Think this is the correct email to complain:
lot3.customerrelations@haas .dwp.gov.uk
Gonna do it tomorrow.

I would suggest that you contact your MP as they may be able to exert some pressure to speed things up.

Hi Everyone,
Just to give a timeframe to the above. I joined UC August 2025, fit note for OsteoArthritis in knees in late August, there is no cure, just management but getting worse. UC50 form submitted in September. I was moved to a group in October, UC would tell me no more, but it involved no appointments, so worked out it was a 'temporary' move whilst i waited for a Work Case Assessment. That WCA arrived December, 3 days before Xmas. The call took over an hour explaining what i cant do on a 'bad day'. I was given LCWRA 2 weeks ago at end January 26. The timeframe from starting the process to nearly finishing it has taken more than 6 months. I haven't worked because of my health since end of January 2025. Not able to work, and waiting to get the correct health benefits has taken research and UC combined, a year. I still haven't received any back pay, but i'm told it will be in written in Journal like my WCA result was, not seen it yet. Reading other comments (not here) the process can take a few weeks, however, my timeframe has been from submission of fit note to LCWRA award, 6 months. Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your experience @Badknees βΊοΈ the time frames can really vary but many people are waiting a long time at the moment, it's not easy.
That's a weird phone call @Denny1972! Hope you manage to get somewhere with your complaint. That's an awfully long time to wait.
