Hi @amazingblazing628 that's understandable, hopefully you don't have to wait too long for the appointment and this will all be a distant memory soon.

I scored 175 no visible blood until the fit test came back with the test results, I thought it must be a mistake so went and did a second one, but the GP told me since I have anemia and low rbc count so they need to do it anyway to rule out where I am bleeding from.

They have a responsibility to see people that have possible bowel cancer within 2 weeks, just to rule out bowel cancer, so I was lucky to get a colonoscopy and only wait until yesterday.

The seats are really hard and uncomfortable, particularly since you have had the solution and had to clear your bowels repeatedly, so I suggest taking a comfortable cushion with you.

IT is important to check whether you can sip water, my leaflet said no water 4 hours before the operation, but many people were sipping water and I discovered just before the operation that water was allowed, so I suggest double checking with them.

It is a long wait, my taxi dropped me off an hour early, I failed to take account of the fact that yesterday was Saturday, so there was almost no traffic. I waited for 3 hours in the endoscopy section, that is not an A+E that is a regular department.

I usually go unaccompanied to my medical appointments, even though they usually insist someone is with me at home after the procedure, I have to lie, because there is no one to watch over me after my procedures, so I thought I could do the same this time.

Unfortunately they have now added in a new clause requiring you be fetched by an **** if you want to have conscious sedation, I hight recommend you do go with conscious sedation, you can only have it if you are fetched by an **** or arrange hospital transport. The last hospital transport I had, took 7 hours of waiting after the operation to organise.

I had to have gas yesterday as a pain relief, instead of conscious sedation, it was woefully inadequate, during the procedure, I had dreadful agony and 4 people had to hold me down while they passed the tube into me, at several points they wanted me to have conscious sedation because of the pain, but could not administer it because I had no **** to fetch me.

They offered to stop and rearrange my appointment, but I was barely able to get through it, and then they started collecting samples and I had to go through all the pain again.

I just recently had my PIP renewal assessment before this, I find PIP always makes me confront all those things I don't want to think about and do on a regular basis without thinking about them, we sort of adjust and get used to doing things a different way. There is always a lot of negativety with the PIP assessments and you almost feel like you are justifying yourself for claiming PIP, like you want to find something wrong with yourself, I already have a host of problems, but in the PIP assessment phase I was still trying to justify myself.

I caught myself recently feeling sorry for myself because increasingly I can't walk, as one of many of my problems, but the thing is I would rather be able to walk and not claim PIP, because I enjoy walking my dog, now I can't and it;s very frustrating, one of the few things I enjoy doing, there are a lot of other things I would rather be able to do and not have to claim PIP for, I would like to be healthy, but I can't be. Don't let the PIP assessment bring you down and make you feel destructive of your health.

After only having gas, you are supposed to be able to leave after 15 minutes without an ****, I was held back for 45-60 minutes so that the doctor could discuss the findings with me. We are sorry there is bad news!

I thought he was going to say, after all of that we can't find where you are bleeding from, instead he told me that they found what they suspect is a cancer growth, but they still want to do additional testing.

They were surprised that this did not phase me at all.

I was terminally ill 2 years ago before having a life saving transplant which has bought me a few extra years of life, so dicovering I might have cancer is just another step on the road.

I hope that your test results will come back cancer free.

Sorry @MyHappy256, the filter sometimes picks up on words that have double meanings! I can see that you weren't trying to say anything rude. Hope you're feeling as well as possible and your symptoms are under control at the moment.

Sorry to hear you're having to have a colonoscopy @amazingblazing628, they're definitely not nice! But it's always best to find out what's going on early and hopefully rule out anything sinister. Don't be afraid to ask for more pain relief if you need it or ask them to slow down for a few seconds if it's too painful.
