Early review or change of circumstances

I am so confused 😵‍💫 whilst on a call to PIP I let them know I’d got a new diagnoses so she said she would have to send out a change of circumstance form, I sent it back & got a text saying they had received my PIP REVIEW form ?! I then had a ridiculous 2hr 37min telephone assesment that was horrendous. I then received the text…. About your PIP review. The health professional has sent us their report. We will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us.You will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change. I called straightaway to ask for the report he convinced me that I didn’t really need the report & that my PIP wasn’t up till may 2026 ( my original claim date ending) I asked what the ridiculously long assesment was for & he directed me to complain to maximus & that is should of been explained to me I don’t know really what is going on does anyone else ?!

    Hi,

If you put in a change of circumstances for PIP, that does trigger a review of the full claim. This sounds like correct procedure so far.

There was no need to tell them about new diagnoses unless your abilities had changed to allow a different number of points to be scored, for an increase or decrease to the award.

That assessment itself was very long, we have seen a few very long ones recently. I don't know why they're doing that but I do feel for anyone being forced through such long assessments.

Your first phone call has triggered a Change of Circumstances, which is actually completed on a Review Form. This triggererd the assessment and all you can do is await the outcome. The second phone call misinformation sounds as though the person on the phone didn't have the updated information.

thanks everyone for your help, I called the line today & was convinced my award had been stopped as it didn’t tell me the date of my next payment I held on the line anxious as the advisor told me my award has been extended till 2029 & I now get the enhanced mobility component aswell. My original award was enhanced daily living only so I am super impressed I don’t need to go through any MR etc as I was convinced my long assessment was horrendous.. thanks again everyone
