Housing association direct discrimination
my husband and I applied for shared ownership. We passed every stage from affordability to a mortgage in principle for our share.
final check the housing association declined our application because of ‘adverse credit’ on our credit file.
It’s a lot better to what it was- we have been working hard to get it better.
I have tried to explain that it occured during hardship when I went from working to disability.
They have made no reasonable adjustments.
and have basically said we have bad credit- it’s our policy. And that they have taken my disability into consideration but there’s markers on our file.
I’ve complained and again they have not made reasonable adjustments. They have an opportunity to respond via stage two of complaint but I have a feeling they will avoid what I’m trying to say.
Question- do I have ground of taking legal action for indirect discrimination?
