Is the following information true or false?
Transitional protection can apply when you claim Universal Credit (UC) and receive a State Pension, provided you are moved as part of a formal 'managedmigration' and meet specific criteria.
Eligibility for Transitional Protection with a State Pension
You may be eligible for transitional protection in this situation if you meet one of the following criteria:
- You received a Migration Notice letter: You must have received a formal letter (a "Migration Notice") from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) asking you to claim Universal Credit by a specific deadline. This process is called "managed migration".
- You had a legacy benefit: Transitional protection is designed to ensure you are not worse off when moving from older"legacy" benefits (like Working Tax Credit) to UC.
- You claim UC bythe deadline: You must make your UC claim by the deadline date specified in your Migration Notice to be eligible for the protection.
