Heart ablation
Hey
Has anyone here had this procedure who has previously had a heart attack or cardiac arrest who could put my mind at rest regarding it's safety in those circumstances?
thank you

thank you both, it's for my mum they gave her an appointment today for December, I didn't want to go down the dangerous road of visiting Dr Google so thought I'd ask here.

Always a good idea to avoid Dr Google! I hope she's feeling ok about it and isn't too worried.

she's very different to me she doesn't worry about anything I do it on her behalf ๐ she's doing ok for now thanks Rachel

Iโve had a heart attack and a double heart bypass so my thoughts any procedure that the cardiologist recommends you need, get it done as there the experts.

I had a heart ablation over 10 years a go now for heart failure.
I found it quite an easy procedure, I certainly felt a lot better afterwards.
I'm glad I had it done.

I had a heart attack 18 years ago. It was a massive shock, I called to see what was happening (as I had no idea what was wrong). They told me to open the front door, sit down and wait for the ambulance. They arrived and [put all the electrical leads on me and said "you are in the middle of a heart attack we are taking you straight to Glenfield hospital. I replied ok, I will grab some clothes (it was the middle of the night). They told me "no time as we are going to the hospital now. I went in my PJ's, within 15 minutes of arriving I was on the operating table having 2 stents fitted. A few days later I was back at home. I am so thankful they were brilliant. My heart doctor called me a few weeks ago, telling I needed another stent. I asked to Christmas at home and she "yes, no problem, this time we know what is happening and will be prepared, enjoy your Christmas. What fantastic service from the NHS. No worries, just relax and get the procedure done, you will be fine.
