Mobility car - when will the first Motability payment be taken from my PIP?
Hey all, I ordered a Motability car last month and was told it would be ready end of December to mid-January. I got a call today saying it will actually be ready on the 25th of November, which is obviously great.
I’m just wondering when the first mobility payment will be taken from my PIP? Has anyone had a similar experience?
I collect the car on the 25th November and my next PIP payment is only 8 days later. I’ve read that PIP payments are processed 10–14 days before they’re paid, which would mean my December payment will have already been processed before my car start date. So in theory the deduction shouldn’t start until the payment after that.
Has anyone else picked up their car about a week before their PIP was due? Was your next payment reduced straight away or did it start on the one after? I’m only asking because I budget monthly and I wasn’t expecting the car to be ready so quickly!
Someone has told me that pip dwp process payments 3 to 5 dayas and not 10 to 14 days prior and the mobility payment will be taken in my december pip but it will be pro rata so not the full mobility payment just the days ive had the car but i didnt think dwp do partial payments for mobility

Hi @faydhar, I'm afraid I don't have any experience of this, so I hope some of our members will be able to share how theirs worked. But if you can't find any answers, it may be worth giving Motability a ring to check how things will go. They should be able to tell you how it'll all work going forward so you can budget for the next couple of months.
Sorry that I couldn't be of more help, I hope our members will find your post and offer some good advice ☺️
Hope you can get some clarity on it soon!
