DLG - Can we disagree with what is proposed?

We are going through the DLG process as my daughter has Muscular Dystrophy. One of the proposed adaptions is a downstairs wet-room. We have proposed a hydrotherapy bath with shower above as this will have a positive effect on her muscles but the proposal from the DFG assessor states a shower with shower-chair.
The plan is to have a bath installed for as long as possible but to set the plumbing out so the bath can be removed in the future and a shower set up as per the Part M building regs for adaptable bathrooms.
Do we have to accept the proposal from the DFG assessor?

I mean DFG not DLG.

I have muscular dystrophy and the council would only install a wet room and wash/dry toilet. I say 'only', but i am very grateful for it.
