ESA and P45
Hello wondering if anyone can advise on this.
Back story myself and my partner was just on his ESA support claim until 2019 we moved to UC but he kept his ESA and it was deducted from UC every month. He has just received a P45 from ESA saying it's ceased 25/11/2025 (his last payment). There has been no letters stating this was happening and what's going to be happening. So we are a little confused.
He is due a payment on the 9/12/2025. Will he be recieving this still?

This is possibly linked to all CB ESA claims being converted to New Style ESA as of 1 December, but as you've migrated to UC I would have expected him to be on NS ESA already.
Because this change is so new nothing is known about the normal process yet.
I'd recommend ringing ESA on Monday.

Yes we migrated in 2019, was told at the time my partner's limited capability would be paid by ESA and just be deducted by UC

Yes that's all correct when someone migrates with both CB & IR ESA.
What happens is the IR gets replaced by UC, and the CB converts automatically into New Style ESA.
So I'm not sure why he might have received this P45, my only idea is some link between all CB ESA being changed as of this week into New Style ESA.
As it's such a new change no one yet knows who is affected and how.
I could also be totally wrong 😊

Thank you your advice. I'll ask him to call Monday for some clarification. If it ended on his last payment date would he receive a payment the following two weeks?
My understanding it is paid in arrears. So should receive a one payment after the end date.
