Underlying carers element
Hello,
My Elderly parents receive pension credit and attendance allowance. My dad was awarded the underlying carers allowance a few years ago as he looks after mum ,this was added to there pension credit. Recently my dad needs more help now so age uk helped me to apply for the carers allowance for my mum looking after dad. They did explain she wouldn't get this in full because of the benefits they receive, but she would be entitled to the underlying element as well. This was applied for on line on the 2nd Sep 2025. Dwp have confirmed she will be getting this added amount, but I should inform pension credit of this award as they don't always get the information. I have contacted pension credit 3 time since the decision but each time they just same it's being processed and there isa backlog. How long should I wait to get this sorted.
Thank you

@berry61 Everything reads correct from what you have said. Unfortunately I cannot put a time on when this would get sorted. it would be wrong of me to compare PIP waiting times. Keep calling every so often is all you can do.
