ASDA Shoplifting Alarm
My carer is unhappy the shoplifting alarm goes off every time she leaves my local ASDA if she has purchased me a steak. It happened last week and again last night. The security guy approaches then asks for her receipt then proceeds to rummage thru the bag of shopping to count how many steaks she has and if it tally's with the number of steaks purchased on the receipt.
According to the ASDA security man the alarm sounds for every steak and that includes my tiny £6.79p steak. Guess i'll have to switch to chops from now on.

Try your local butchers. There's no alarms there, and you will get better quality for your money.
M butchers always buys from local farmers for his meat and poultry. Less carbon footprint and supports our local farmers.
I also have a milkman for my milk, eggs and butter.
I buy very little from the supermarket .

Hi, it’s the same at the Tesco and also chicken and some pork chops. She can say to the person at the till to take that wee barcode off or scan it where they take the clothes tag off but also she has to show receipt she paid for it. The more things are like this as some people taking the scan go with them and abuse the system buy not scanning a meat or other things.
I don’t understand why she is not happy as soon everything will have an alarm. I know is annoying but we just let them know .
I like to do online delivery but also I do like to go out sometimes to the store.
My all neighbours getting delivery from Asda, Tesco , Iceland is the best way to do it online and she can help you unpacked too.2 -

I'm kinda vegetarian but not quite, but mostly eat alot of vegetarian meals or choose the vegetarian option, I've always perfered my veggies more than anything. But on the occasion have chicken at weekends, and I still eat fish.

That's a good compromise, rubin, eating meat occasionally. Not everyone wants to cut it our of their diet completely. For myself, i can't unlearn what i have about the slaughter, especially regarding pigs. I come from a family of butchers.

It's the same at Morrisons too with steak. This product was being stolen I am led to believe. The alarm goes off with me at at times at Morrisons but the Security man recognises me and let's me continue. I have never had to get my receipt out and have my shopping checked even though I have offered to do it. Morrisons is good for that, they get to know you as a regular customer. I know a lot of the workers by their first name too.

Sadly, shoplifting is rife, so it's understandable we often have these checks. Aldi & Lidl have them too now. A sad world we live in!
