ESA assessments

that’s not a fair assumption that because you prefer a video link to f-f??? The reason why people pre video is because it’s well known that f-f assessment are likely to fail. 75 percent of people who do f-f go to tribunal. Everyone is different and I personally find the whole experience terrifying. I simply couldn’t face a f-f assessment. The assessors can see you perfectly well and ask you to do functional exercises at home. People can swing the lead in a f-f appointment as well. Perhaps if the DWP were fair and not always looking to catch you out, it wouldn’t be as unfair and horrible.

Why would more people fail face to face? Is that not because it is harder to fake? What people 'prefer' should make no difference to what is carried out in the name of fairness.

If only we could sail through life, only doing what we 'prefer'.

I personally wouldn’t have anyone examine me at home or otherwise. I find it appalling. ESA is an out of work benefit, it shouldn’t make any difference if your muscles are waisted or not! Some people have invisible disabilities, I have a Urostomy, is the assessor going to examine my stoma bag ? To check it’s there! Not on my watch!

What if, like me, you depend on state benefits? What do you think might be the outcome of refusing to abide by the rules?

I think if you explain why as I did. The assessor actually agreed with me. As long as uou have an acceptable reason. I do understand your point. We’re all in the same situation.

You can ask for a copy of your UC85 or ES85 on your UC journal, this will say how long your awward is.This is for ESA/UC LCW/LCWRA,not sure if its the same for PIP.

Thank you. I am not on UC.

That's fine, i'm sure plenty claimants have a reasonable excuse. I think it should be decided on a case by case basis, not just what any given claimant fancies.

it’s not about what the claiment fancies ! It’s about what they can physically and mentally manage !
I would have thought you would understand that!1 -
I believe it is determined case by case in accordance with the claimant's disabilities and the weight of evidence presented.

You actually mentioned preferring a vidoe assessment. Maybe i would prefer to lose this powerchair? We can't always have things our way.
If they agree you have a good reason for avoiding face to face assessments, then you're sorted.

You need the PIP decision letter for the length of award.

I would prefer to have my health!

perhaps a bit of kind understanding wouldnt go amiss here ? I have genuine health reasons as to why I prefer video.
Not everyone can attend f-f because of their health or mental health. I really don’t care for your opinion.2 -
Naughty step for you then Chris, I'd have given up with reasoning a few posts ago😂😂

I am happy to debate with most people, but i can't abide self entitlement. I aim that remark at society in general these days.

On my form I stated that i would need an assessment centre no further than 15 mins away by car as I cannot sit up and travel that far, I would need disabled parking, close to the assessment centre as I cannot walk, no stairs, or long walks, and as I cannot sit upright in a chair for longer than a few minutes, so would need to conduct my interview laying down, or lying back on a couch at a pinch, or they can come to my house, Tbh, id rather them see me, i sent them 200 pages Of medical documentation about my tests , Letters from Docs, Occupational health and 5 different GPs letters of assessments. they replied they do not do home visits and said mine was to be done over the phone. Tbh they just asked me the same questions on the form, which was imo a waste of time, considering all the info they had on me.

200 pages evidence might well have been too much, sometimes less is more and can have a bigger impact.
