Car tax - two nominate drivers ?
Hello all.
8 year old daughter has just been awarded HRM. Both parents use a car for her. (A normal car - not a Motability one).
Can either parent register the car as "disabled class" at the post office? And can either parent then go on to drive the car either with the daughter or for her (such as food shopping) ?
Or do we need to nominate a single "nominated driver" ?
Many thanks for any constructive replies.

Either parent can register the car in the disabled tax class at the Post Office, you don’t need to name a single nominated driver. The important bit is that the car must be used for your daughter’s needs. That includes transporting her, or making trips on her behalf (such as food shopping). If you have more than one car, you’ll need to decide which one to register, as the exemption can only apply to a single vehicle at a time.
