Indefinate award 10 year review
Hi all.
I was awarded PIP in 2018 and received enhanced rate for both daily living and mobility, with an indefinite/ongoing award.i jave rhumetoid Arthrtis since i was 25 im 43 now
I’ve since read that this usually means a light-touch review after around 10 years, and as I’m getting closer to that time I’m starting to feel really nervous.
I’ve recently decided to get a Motability car, with my husband driving for me. We did have our own car, but the stress of it breaking down and being unreliable causing me to miss important hospital and doctor’s appointments became too much. That was the final straw, so Motability felt like the safest and least stressful option.
I’m really worried about the upcoming review and the possibility of losing my PIP or the Motability car, as that would have a serious negative impact on my independence and quality of life.
Has anyone here had an indefinite/ongoing PIP award and gone through the light-touch review?
What was it like, and what was the outcome?
Any reassurance or shared experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you.

I dont have an indefinite award but all I could say is gather all medical evidence nearer the time of your review some people do a diary I find it helps me gather medical evidence ect so prepared on that side

Please try not to worry @faydhar - your 'light touch' review will only likely come through about 8 months before your current award ends, & the form is really short, & you likely won't need an assessment nor need to send any 'medical evidence.'
You can see the form here:
Unless your needs by then have improved, it's likely that just ticking 'No' for the relevant questions would suffice. As you already receive the enhanced rate for both components, then ticking 'Yes' couldn't improve on your award.
Unfortunately we haven't had any members as far as I know go through such a review, but this is the best info we have so far. My 'light touch' award will end summer 2027, so watch this space! I will certainly be filling my review out as above. With other reviews it's recommended to go into as much detail as possible, but not needed with this one.
I'm in a similar position; I haven't seen my GP since 2017 as my condition will not improve, but he's well aware of my limitations.

My friend has RA severe so it's understandable that it won't improve and most treatments offer temporary relief not permanent just write everything from morning to night if you have family they can write a letter of your struggles daily life any meds your on
