What a wait - Therapy for CPTSD suggestions
I have been waiting five years for therapy here in Wales since being diagnosed with cptsd I received a phone call on Thursday potentially starting art therapy in February as that’s what is available I probably need quite a lot of therapy and not even sure where to begin as it’s been so long waiting and bottled up any suggestions please

Hi @just4once, I'm sorry it's taken so long for you to get some therapy. Art therapy sounds interesting, how are you feeling about it?
I found a self-help guide from the NHS which might be helpful whilst you wait for therapy to start - PTSD and CPTSD Self-Help Guide. Mind have some great information about CPTSD and the best therapies for it - Complex PTSD.
I don't have personal experience of CPTSD so I can't say what therapies might be suitable. Hopefully one of our members will be able to share their experience.

I found art therapy isn't a cure (but what is?), but is brilliant, because it lets us express what we can't put into words. This is especially useful with a condition like CPTSD where trying to explain something and failing (because it can't be explained using words) often makes it worse. 🙂 😊

Thank you for your responses I have used mind online before and others sites too like no panic although for the last year I have been freeze response I am trying to come out of that now so hopefully this art therapy will be helpful as well
