I live in South Wales and some towns and villages further up the Valleys have had it really bad!!
No snow here for me but we had lots of sleet last night but towns 10/15 minutes away from me have had a proper thick covering of snow⛄️0 -
Had snow yesterday which turned to rain, live in the west Midlands. Some areas schools are shut which is more for the countryside

Well I was expecting to wake up to a blanket of snow outside, nothing there apart from a few odd puddles. I even got shopping in incase it was quite bad. I'm thankful its not as bad as first predicted.

I wouldn't call it the storm of the decade really…there's been worse. It's a fact of we're never prepared for each winter.

Was storm goretti - "fake news" ?
perhaps to take our minds off important world events ?

Most mainstream news is "fake news" to be honest, I don't even listen to mianstream news and just get information from realiable sources myself.

I saw some footage of Cornwall. I think they had it pretty bad down there. It wasn't too bad here in the East Midlands though - a bit of a rain.

We've had a lot of wind and rain here, but it's calm now. We've had worse storms within the last month.
Last weekends weather had more impact here though, ice and snow, frozen for several days made it difficult to do anything outside.

The part of Cornwall where I live by the coast wasn't affected too much.
All I saw from my windows was heavy rain and strong winds which we tend to get a lot of anyway.

That proves it - Storm Goretti was a con - probably CGI - designed to instill fear in the general population …that shifted the thinking of all of us - away from Government supported Trump actions. The government no doubt been planning the whole thing for months………

Hi @Wibbles I can confirm the storm was very much real - just perhaps not as bad ask we were expecting. But it's better to receive more severe warnings and be prepared and safe, than not. 🙂

Red weather warnings aren't released lightly.

I had just moved in to my first house in September 1987 and faced the storm a month later - I lived in Portsmouth and was hit fairly hard - I lost tiles from the roof and my TV Aerial too !!
Luckily I had got my home insurance the previous week.
