Surgery refusing to add blood pressure results to medical record
The problems continue with my surgery - I was asked to take my blood pressure for 7 days - which I did and sent them via email, yesterday, to my surgery - nothing heard and nothing appeared in my medical record - so I repeated the email this morning - I was told that I am NOT allowed to email them - and must use the website to add them - the problem is that whilst I could add them, the readings are so "All over the place" - ie) 156 max 132 min - that I want my GP to see the actual readings !! Admin are refusing to add them manually !

Hey Wibbles, perhaps you can "add" the correct readings via the website first, then send a separate email to your Drs surgery letting them know you have done this but are very concerned about the "readings being all over the place" and would like for them to inform your GP in advance??

I shouldn't worry too much, mines the same. It's when it gets a lot higher than that, mine never appear on my records.

Could you make an appointment to see your Dr about the readings? That's what I did after my Dr asked me to take mine.

I agree that seems a bit odd Wibbles.
However, I'd also add that they likely have all sorts of policies in place regarding information privacy (etc) and that may well mean things must be done in a particular way.

I was asked to take readings over 7 days - and the GP would like to see me - if the readings were high - but how will they know whether they are high or not ?
The readings ARE high !

They normally do allow for me to communicate via Email / face to face, as I am unable to speak on the phone..

I don't think that I can add readings to MY OWN records !

Curiouser and curiouser Wibbles!
It may be a new policy?

Well - I have a blood test tomorrow - I will ask the nurse how I am supposed to get my pressures noted down…..

Would adding them to the website not then allow the GP to review them? When I had to record blood pressure I added them to my surgery's app which was then reviewed by my GP. I wouldn't imagine the website data is just ignored and unused, it's just part of the process.

I can't add them.

My apologies then Wibbles, I must have misunderstood as your first post read to me as if you were saying that you could add them to the website, but were concerned the GP wouldn't see them. I hope you are able to sort a solution out. Best of luck with your blood tests tomorrow.

I have to do home readings too, when asked for them by my GP. I take them in like Dendoo does. I always get a message from her to say if they're good, bad or ugly. She has them on her computer, but never seen them on the app though.

OK Yesterday - I had my blood test
Plus I found an email address and sent them my missing blood pressures - but today, they have added some wildly inaccurate readings to my health record !
They have calculated the average as 165/95 whereas it should be 145/82
I have told them and await an explanation….
