PIP planned reviews
Hi I have just read the latest newsletter from Benifits and Work too be quite honest I am even more confused. My PIP award ends end October 2026. I have been receiving PIP for 5 Years and I am due a review at present I receive enhanced daily living and standard mobility. My conditions are worse and cannot be cured or operated on. I am now being tested for IBD/ Colitis/Crohns. The symptoms I have make it difficult to leave the house and my mobility is poor and I have limited functionality. I have extensive medical evidence. Does anyone have any idea what I might expect as all I can gather is a massive cost cutting operation is going on and I could lose my award whether I deserve it or not . My costs are huge and if I lose it I will be left with nothing to support my needs .Sorry to be gloomy but I feel like rubbish at the moment.

I also received the B&W newsletter.
There are no planned confirmed changes yet happening to PIP criteria.
The recommendations from the Timms review won't be made until Autumn 2026.
(Recommendations doesn't mean everything proposed is eventually passed into law)
Your reassessment will take place under the current rules.
The success rates published by B&W refer I believe to initial DWP results. Success rates at independent appeal tribunal are much higher.
For a PIP review we always recommend treating it as a new claim with lots of details, using additional sheets of paper if needed.
Local welfare rights organisation can also assist with the form filling

Thank you for the link last time Citizens Advice helped me fill in the form but now its hard for me to leave the house I am not sure who else to ask I am 64 and have been advised that Age Concern can visit your home to help but not sure if that is the case.
Take care thank you again

Hi @lizptsd. I've had a look at Age UKs website and I couldn't see anything that said that they offer a home visit, but that doesn't mean they don't. It could be worth calling them on this number to ask 0800 678 1602. Hopefully they'll be able to help.

Thank you Rachel thats really helpful I will give them a call. Our nearest Age Uk is 20 minutes away and its tricky for me to do journeys like that. Our Age Concern office who also can help is moving premises which was nearer. Our Citizens Advice office is not very Disabled friendly and I had difficulty last time despite warning them 😡 They are certainly not going to be able to cope with a mobilty scooter and my constant need for the loo.

Age Concern might turn you down for being too young - happened to my Mum 😆
Most organisations offer telephone appointments, I filled in my PIP application in 2024 over the phone (not CAB).

Just asking, on posts I've seen that pip is still going ahead for the 4 points even if you are claiming at the moment. How true is this ?

False, that particular proposal has been withdrawn.

That's from June 30th.
The next day the Government withdrew the proposal.
See this article from July 3rd.
There are currently no planned changes to PIP, nor any proposals until the results of the Timms review out this Autumn.

Thank you Kimi87 for that article this is the reason I dont join the forum much as there is a great deal of scaremongering and posts that are not very helpful especially when everyone is so anxious.
