ESA - payment change
I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend who has received contributions based ESA for many years.
This weeks fortnightly payment went into his bank account as usual, and for the correct amount.
However, £20 of the payment was labelled JSA, job seekers allowance he presumes.
He has never seen this before in his ESA payments, and there's been no recent changes or any dealings with the DWP, and obviously isn't in receipt of JSA, so he's confused why £20 is attributed to JSA?
Any help with this would be good.

JSA is used as a reference when a manual payment has to be made.
Since December 1st all CB ESA awards converted into New Style ESA, it's likely this caused a payment blip which was noticed and corrected with the manual adjustment.

Thanks.
What do you mean by a "manual payment"?
It's just his regular fortnightly ESA payment into his account, with a first time reference to JSA.

Manual payment means DWP staff made a manual payment adjustment, as opposed to the money going in automatically on a schedule.
ESA is around £20 a day, so he received 13 days money automatically, and one day manually.
