Poetry
hello everyone, I don’t talk on here much but I do like, to read discussions.
I’m a bit on the shy side, I have ostreoarthritis excuse my spelling,
I also suffer from fibromyalgia and this time of the year I have some bad flares, I still work part time.
I’ve started to write poetry its not the best but I find it helps to write how I’m feeling in a poem.
This is one of my first
The Pain
I do my best to hide the pain,
No point to moan or groan
Just keep going I tell myself
keep going and carry on
At least I’m here to tell the tales of family past and present
The friends I’ve made over the years
I know that I’ve been lucky,
So no moaning or groaning your hear from me
I’ll be strong and carry on .

Hi @Bee123. I'm sure many people will connect with this poem. Thank you so much for sharing and I agree, poetry is very good for the soul. Do you have a favourite poet? I recently purchased some of T S Eliot's works and found it really inspiring 😊

Hi@Bee123,
Personally, I am not a 'poetry' type of person but you do have a 'gift' and it has a positive attitude which is what really matters! Fibromyalgia is a a debilitating condition and so can Osteoarthritis (I have this in several joints, so can have an understanding with that). As a nurse, I have encountered many people who suffer with Fibromyalgia, so can appreciate a little of what this must be like for you. Finding a way of expressing your feelings and also acting as a 'distraction' from the pain and discomfort is an excellent survival technique so well done you! It is an inspiration to people who find coping strategies difficult not to 'give up'.
Good luck with your new venture!
