Decision time
Hi everyone
I first applied for pip in 2023 and narrowly missed out on the points needed, I appealed and the same happened, I gave up and suffered.
In July 25 I reapplied because my conditions have got worse and I had more conditions to add, just 2 weeks after my telephone assessment i recieved the decision letter stating I had been unsuccessful, this time I did not get any points for anything. Horrified with this decision I appealed, I did not appeal correctly, I was so upset that they did not see any of my conditions difficulties as being worth a point, I wrote a 3 page letter back basically telling them what I thought of them. On Friday (yesterday) I recieved a telephone call from a lady in dwp, she informed me she was dealing with my complaint and would make a decision after our call, she asked the questions others have talked about i.e. have you been to prison? Have you been in hospital etc. Then she asked if I was able to manage a large back payment or would I need support with this. She continued with a couple of medical questions and ended the call saying a decision letter would be sent on Monday.

Hi @justkeeptrying welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you've had such a rough time with your PIP, it's so exhausting having to fight for what you need. It does sound like they may have taken the complaint letter as an appeal.
The questions they've asked towards the end of the call are quite standard, so they don't necessarily mean you have or haven't been awarded. But hopefully your letter will arrive soon to confirm what the new decision is.
Have you ever had any help with your appeals? Sometimes it can be helpful to speak to Citizens Advice or a local benefits adviser for some support. Hopefully you won't need it but it's well worth looking into if you find the result hasn't changed. Turn2Us have an advice finder to help locate local help:
Fingers crossed you receive a better result this time! Keep us updated ☺️
