I have been getting PIP personal care low rate for several years. when I initially applied I went to local assessment centre and the assessor was very help ful but was only awarded persona; care but not mobility. I did and still have problems walking due to shin bone pain and ankle pain both of which have got worse since then. I work in a first school as a catering unit manager for last 25 years. I have asked my GP to provide a letter listing my medical history including diagnosis and treatment details which includes Physio therapy and visits to pain management clinic. They want £30 for this service but also want to know why I want this informatio. I am reluctant to tell them the reason because I fear they will not give proper details because they do not want hassle of answering DWP queries I am told by google searches.

I drive an automatic and use a walking stick which I did not when I Inirialy applied for PIP 5 years ago Is it worth getting the GPs to write a letter or should I just download my medical notes. Should I tell the GP the reason for my request?

Hi @Akhtar64 I think gathering all the information you can to support your case is beneficial. Is it a new claim you're putting in or reporting a change?

If you've not already looked, I've attached a link to the Governments scoring guide as it might be helpful to have a look through before any assessments - PIP assessment guide part 2: the assessment criteria - GOV.UK

    Hi Holly

Its a renewal of excising claim which ends this month. I have to complete a reassessment form and return by end of this month. Is it better to send via recorded delivery.

    Kind Regards

I only ever send it by obtaining proof of purchase which is free of charge.

I think that they mean proof of posting.

You ask the post office to give you proof of postage when you post your completed form.

It proves you posted the letter and its free of charge.
