Am I alone?!??
Having a bit of a panic!!!!
I got back from a short walk about an hour ago and been sat comfy eating snacks on the sofa and on here since then. I've been feeling a draft and aware that it's much colder than usual so got up to go find another top and my front door is wide open?!?
I always close and lock it behind me as I'm super paranoid, so did I forget to do BOTH?? Or did someone come in?? I'm so confused and a bit worried but way too scared to go upstairs and check π€£ I can't hear anyone moving and my walls are like paper so I think I'd hear if someone was in the house, so I assume I just forgot and left the door open but why??? I hate my brain

I feel like I can really relate to a lot of your posts @Biblioklept! π
See, I get this if I ever enter the kitchen late or in the middle of the night on occasion as it's quite open to the outside. For some reason, I scare myself into thinking someone's in the garden, especially if I hear any noise. I know deep down it's just me being silly but once I think it, that's it. I just hurry out and back in to the safety of my bedroom π

In the middle of the night after watching a scary film or something I sometimes wake up and have to check around the room to make sure there's no monsters in the room
I guess when half asleep it takes less energy to indulge the worry and just look around to prove it wrong, than it does to try to rationalise it, but I find it interesting how in that semi-asleep state I can believe there might be something there haha

Yeppp exactly!!
I always scare myself thinking someone's in the garden!! My lights out there are solar and aren't really getting enough sun this time of year so it's always pitch black out there too!

Oooh that's interesting, I think I always try and rationalise it but mostly because I get too scared to check and realise if it IS something there is not much I could do anyway π

Something weird started happening to me recently. I was watching one of those 'mystery' programs about real events from history that still haven't been totally proven, and they provide a few different scenarios for what could have happened. Unfortunately, they also use a certain type of music and a certain tone of voice that seems to set of some sort of stress receptors.
In the past I could cope with that but towards the end of last year my body suddenly reacted as if there was another person sat in the chair next to me!! Goosebumps, increased heart rate, short breath, etc. I want to make it clear I couldn't see anything there at all, and I don't even believe in ghosts or anything like that. But my body fully reacted as if there was. Sadly it happened again every time I tried to watch a similar sort of program so I've had to stop watching them completely now. But it still happens occasionally in the dark. It has scared me tbh, not about the idea of ghosts, but simply about the way my body can react to something I don't even believe is there! π

@Biblioklept, don't panicβ¦..don't panic! I daresay, we've all done that at somepoint. I know I have, multiple times, even gone to bed & come down in the morning & thought what the heck! After checking, I realised it was me. More recent, I've left my keys in the door, a few times a nice person noticed & knocked the door to let me know. Other times, I eventually remembered late on. I now have an electric opening & closing door, so shouldn't ever happen again.
