MP'S NEED TO LEARN ABOUT DISABILITIES, HOW DIFFERENT TYPES OF DISABILITIES AFFECTS DIFFERENT PEOPLE, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES NEEDING TO PAY FOR THEIR CARE, LIFE IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.
I FIND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO COPE, BECAUSE OF MY HEALTH AND DISABILITIES.
I AM UNABLE TO DO THINGS FOR MYSELF, AND I AM UNABLE TO LOOK AFTER MYSELF.

That's true @sben. There are a few MPs who are kind and understanding, but many that need to learn more about disabilities and how they can affect people.

What do you think would be the best way to help MPs understand more about disabilities?

HE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO CONSIDER THE EQUIPMENT WE MIGHT USE, BECAUSE OF OUR HEALTH AND DISABILITIES.
THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO CONSIDER THE COST OF THE EQUIPMENT, THE TYPE OF EQUIPMENT THAT IS USED, AND HOW EQUIPMENT USES A LOT OF GAS AND ELECTRIC.

I think you need to hit the caps lock button, your posts are impossible to read and hurt the eyes

IN TERMS OF BENEFITS, THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO CONSIDER THAT PEOPLE WITH HEALTH AND DISABILITIES NEEDS TO PAY FOR THEIR CARE, THEIR EQUIPMENT, AND THEIR SAFETY.
I ALWAYS HAVE TO PAY FOR MY CARE, MY EQUIPMENT, AND MY SAFETY, IN WHICH THIS IS NOT EASY.

It can be tough to afford things you need @sben. Do you get help through PIP?

I have combined some of your posts as I can see you have a lot to say and many them talk about what the government needs to do. It'll be easier to chat about it if they're in one place.

Just so you know, some members find it a little difficult to read text in full capitals and it can sometimes feel like you are shouting. Do you need any support to turn it off? Usually there's a button to press on your keyboard that will mean the letters go back to lower case. But let us know if you need any help finding it ☺️

We all have our own struggles, and have to be as resilient as we can in the face of adversity. Nobody said life would was easy.

I think it would be kinder to message Scope if something like this bothers you.

It's perfectly legible to me and I have dodgy vision. Some people do prefer to write in uppercase and we need to make reasonable adjustments for each other on this forum.

sben, we are given money to pay for those things so of course the Government understands poor health and disability!

Scope tells them that the cost of disability is rising yet many claimants struggle to pay bills and use public transport, just like you do. We will all see an increase in our benefits in a few weeks' time.

Public places we can influence on a local level by contacting our MP or a councillor about inaccessible pavements and shops and poor services. Morrisons where I live provide a weekday quiet hour with reduced lighting for those of us with sensory disorders. Perhaps ring or email the store (or railway station) before your visit if you'll need additional support?

You are right that the general public is impatient - I think most people are under a lot of stress much of the time in an increasingly noisy world. Avoiding peak hours and weekends for shopping is always best.

The MP's should consider how they would feel if they had different types of disabilities, and they was unable to do things for themselves.

    I have lost everything.

Because of that, I am unable to pay for my care and the equipment that I need.

I, myself have contacted councils, supermarkets and public transport about all different things, including health and disabilities.

I have been told many times that they are not concerned, and that they do not care.

I no longer get help with PIP.

PIP does not believe anything that I say, they ignore everything that I say, and they do not believe anything about health, safety, and disabilities.

Hi @sben, it seems you're going through a difficult time at the minute. Did you appeal your PIP decision?

Can you tell us exactly what kind of help you need? Then we can find some information for you.

I have been to Citizens Advice, and I have made appeals.

Both PIP and the Tribunal do not believe me and Citizens Advice.

The help that I need is that the government, DWP and PIP need to believe me, consider how my health and disabilities affects me, consider my health and safety, and also consider that I need to pay for the care that I need, because of my health and safety.

The government and DWP are forcing people with disabilities to work.

The government and DWP are making in very hard for people to claim benefits.

    I, myself have lost everything.

How can the government 'force' us to work? Employers don't want disabled employees?

If I couldn't secure another job in 2010, I am most certainly not going to secure one in 2026.

I have had everything taken away from me, PIP and DWP have told me many times that they are not concerned with my disabilities, and that I should go back to work.
