Dealing and understanding a diagnosis of cerebral palsy for my daughter
hello everyone I would like to introduce myself as Ray my daughter who is 19 months old was diagnosed with cerebral palsy around 16 months I am trying to educate myself and I am looking for advice on anything you guys could help me with this could be with physio you could recommend hydrotherapy things along the nature of what and where could help my daughter anything along the lines of benefits also we are based in South Yorkshire I am looking to connect with like minded people who have an understanding and are further along on there CP journey so I can ask an learn what helps for them I have also found trying to hold everything together for the family has affected my mental health a lot so anyone who has visited a professional to help talk and process and found it helpful I would appreciate your feedback I hope everyone is ok and hopefully hear back from a few of you

It's good to virtually meet you.
Receiving a diagnosis can bring up a mix of emotions, and you need to remember that there is no set way that you should feel.
Your daughter should be under the care of a paediatrician and should be given access to regular physiotherapy. This will help with her mobility and coordination. We have lots of information about Cerebral PalsyCurrently, the CP network Zoom meetings are for people aged 18 and over or a parent of an adult with CP.
We have the Parents of Children with CP Facebook group.

hi and thanks for your reply lovely to speak to you also am a little late with replies due to work and will definitely look into your groups and advice just taking me a little time to figure the site out but it’s somewheee for me to start and gain advice from people a lot more experienced in this than me my little girl has peadeatrician only seen him twice and physio has been hit and miss really not what I expected unfortunately we have just had a consultation about getting private physio in chesterfield hopefully works out where she starts positive progress and hopefully we can make it manage financially as we’re down to only bringing a wage in
