a number of years ago I did permitted work for 6 months. That cane to a natural end after 6 months with a possibility of more permitted work if opportunity arose. At time I didn’t inform dwp that it ended because it appeared to be opened end and my fear of speaking to them.

Dwp were aware of the permitted work so my benefits at the time was unadffected, HMRC should no tax records of permitted work.

Out of the blue I got A PW8 to return. They wanted day month and year when it ended. Through relay telephone service I got an extension. My newish link worker spoke to dwp for me explaining my concerns eg imprisonment. My link worker helped with PW8 and spoke to dwp for me. I am still anxious that benefits could be stopped

I would seek legal advice, they can't stop your benefits for no reason, yet I know from past experience that the DWP are incompetent Clowns at the best of times.

so do DWP have to give notice and reason to stop payment

I saw my link worker in connection with PW8 on 13 Feb got extension for date of return of PW8 which should have been on 16. she phoned DWP on my behalf to give end date of permitted work. Written reply posted in time for evening post. I am due for NS ESA payment on 23rd and UC on 24th. Hopefully those payments shouldn’t be affected since they are paid in arrears. But next NS ESA payment on 9 March could be.

DWP don’t seem to be well trained I am trying to get my link eotker to act on my behalf. But they seem to think that can only be done if my link worker has control of my bank account, I know that that was wrong since I got explicit consent for my llink worker to act for me on my UC appointment. My work coach had to be corrected by a neighbouring work coach when he also was unaware that someone can act for me without me giving them control of my bank account

Yes, it's basic common sense innit? But of course these days "common" sense in't actually that common is it?
