I had a Saturday job at a shoe shop. I never understood how my manager could spend five days a week there.

As part of my HND Business Studies Sandwich Course I had a 6 month job at Data100 back in 1974 working with their Purchasing Department manager, checking the the orders, deliveries, and stocks for their computer manufacturing departments

100% It was awful and our uniform was TIGHT fitted pencil skirts, either with bare legs or stockings???

Given we spent all day going down to the basement and up and down ladders to get shoes off the shelf… not to mention crouching in the window sorting out the displays!!!

During the school holidays when I wasn't working as a TA I'd do more hours in the shoe shop and it was one of my least favourite jobs ever. It was a pretty posh shop, and catered to people who were just so rude and impatient and entitled which made it even worse! But the uniform sucked the most 😅
