Does a mistake on my reporting change of circumstances prompt review?
Hi, I updated my journal to reflect my current savings, etc. I made a mistake in that I said I didn't have any saving income. I immediately realised the mistake and put it right. That was on the 25/02/26 and now today, I've had a request to attend the job centre for financial review.

Unfortunately I know from painful experience that Job Centre Plus are grossly incompetent 95% of the time… It was a genuine mistake on your part but they'll make a big song and dance about it and make you feel like a Criminal.

Reviews are sometimes random, but certain things can increase the chance of one being triggered. For example, reporting a big change in savings or income shortly after stating something different can flag your record for an automatic review, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything intentional was done, but the system can pick up discrepancies like that.
It’s also possible that your review is just part of a larger batch of routine checks that are happening for many people right now, so it might not be linked to any one specific report.
